Had a great sunset at the beach Sunday night. It wasn't that spectacular before the sun had set but as any experienced photographer will say, stay for at least a half hour after the sun has set and you will often be rewarded with better pictures. This shot was taken about 20 minutes after sunset. I was here back in October and there were about 10 photographers out with their expensive DSLR cameras and I was amazed that I was the only one with a tripod and then they all packed up and left as soon as the sun had set. Anyway I hope you like it.

I agree the color looks much better in the other one. Also I agree that some of my best sunset shots are well after sunset timewise. I don't leave until the color starts really fading.

Great work! And yes, it's all about the tripod. I take it with me almost every time I go shooting.

Nicely done! It's all about the tripod man! I even use it during the day sometimes when the sun is even out, and I admit, I do get a few puzzled looks, but it's totally worth the crispness! I like the composition on this one, the slightly bigger rock on the lower right hand corner surprisingly balances out the photo, my eye goes to all portions of the photo.
