The lightning storm on our third night in the San Juans. I really wish I could have gotten a better foreground for this one on the beach but unfortunately it was pouring rain and I would have gotten my camera wet so I had to shoot it from the house.

still way cool though! what lens did you shoot this with? it looks like it's a higher focal length lens. Lucky that you got the bolts to fill the frame! Or did you do some magic cropping?

Actually it was a wide angle. 17mm on my 40D. I didn't crop this one the bolts just happened to strike like that.

cool! I didn't know you were shooting with a 4dd! That's what I shoot with! Did you just get it or have you had it a while? How do you like it? what wide angle lens are you shooting with?

I'm not sure exactly when I got it, I think sometime around last October. I shot with a 30D before that. My ultra wide is the Canon 10-22 and my other wide is the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
