Artist's Comments

Cape Kiwanda State Park, Oregon.

Critiques

Ah, the kind of photo that makes me want to go on the West Coast (maybe this summer).

The composition itself is really good. The shape of the rock that makes a wave who is going to crash on the beach. Also the rock fits perfectly in the composition (we still can see a good part of the sky). And with the good angle of view, we can see both sea and sky.
The light is also great on the whole shot, maybe you should add more contrast in the sky.

In conlusion, gorgeous and great shot! It really deserves a :+fav:

Masterful composition, Austin. Really, really good stuff.

Wonderful shot! The composition is excellent.

Cape Kiwanda is the same place I took my two newest deviations. It looks like the weather was much more pleasant Sunday. It was nasty on Sat. which is why I didn't take many shots. I would have loved to spend a whole day there though. Beautiful and interesting place.

Yeah I noticed once I got there that it was the same place you took those two photos at. This was my first time there. The geology of the place is very interesting and makes for some good photos when the weather is right.

It was my first time there as well. I actually happened across this place accidentally on my way home! I really want to go back and spend more time there though.

Tight composition works great here, really nicely exposed sky and the whole scene balances together quite nicely :)

Thanks drew. This is one of my personal favorites from the weekend trip. I really liked the spiral shape separating the water and sky from the rock formations.

Me too. I'd like to get some shots there at sunset.

Thanks Felicity. How are things for you?

My thoughts exactly.
